Privacy policy

Effective October 20, 2026. The short version: your files go directly between your own devices. We never receive, see or store them.

Your files

RoomDisk sends files directly between your devices over an encrypted connection. They never pass through a RoomDisk server and we have no copy of them, their names or their contents.

What stays on your devices

Device names, remembered devices, transfer history, settings, thumbnails and your plan’s sign-in are kept in your browser’s storage on each device. Clearing the site’s data removes them. We can’t see any of it.

The website

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability. We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics that count visits without tracking you across sites. We don’t use advertising cookies or sell data.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and email for the receipt under its own privacy policy; we receive what Stripe shares with merchants (such as your email, the amount and the name you gave). Your passcode is made in your browser.

RoomDisk Anywhere

If you use remote access, two short, encrypted connection messages pass through public Nostr relays, and STUN servers (Cloudflare, Google) help your devices find each other. These services can see your IP address, not your files or the content of the messages.

Children

RoomDisk isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Your rights

Since we hold almost nothing about you, there’s little to access or delete. For anything we do hold (such as an email about a purchase), write to hello@roomdisk.com and we’ll help.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its date.
